On February 18, i walked into State Street’s Macy’s to purchase a wallet for my mom as a present. They don’t have the color I wanted so the sales lady helped me call other Macy’s store to help me order. The whole process was through the phone. I had to give my address, debit card number, name, and cell phone number through the phone. I specifically gave the sales lady my email so I could get a copy of the order/receipt. Unfortunately, there’s no option on the computer to put my email, so they gave me was “Register #”, “Transaction #”, “Store #”, and “Total #”. The Sales lady was sweet, she helped me through everything and even gave me a discount on the shipping even though I am not a Macy’s member. Total came out to be around $52. I left Macy’s a bit worried about the address and decided to call Macy’s customer service to confirm my address. For some unknown reason, they could not find my transaction by my name or number or ANYTHING, until they asked for my debit card number. The guy confirmed my address and I thanked him. Two days later, I called Macy’s to ask if my package had been shipped and again, the whole process to find my transaction was a pain in the butt. When I first called, the lady told me she was busy assisting other customers so she will call me back later with the details. When she did call back, I missed the call, but they left me a voicemail with the shipped date and UPS tracking number. With that, I was able to track down where my package was. Everything went smoothly until February 21, where my package was “Out for Delivery” but it NEVER came. They changed my shipping date to “By the end of February 22”. Okay fine, I waited. and on February 22, they changed it to “By the end of February 25” … OKAY, i waited. then on February 25 around 7 pm, I gave up on waiting for the package and requested for a store pick up instead.
So today February 26 , around 11:30 AM, i called my local UPS store to see if my package was ready for pick up. The lady told me that my package was requested for store pick up but there is no confirmation code about where the package is. So she told me to call her around 2-3pm because there’s a chance that the package might be misplaced or lost, and I should definitely call Macy and let them know that I still have not received my package. I called Macy and they transferred me to numerous phone calls. I literally spent 40 minutes waiting on the line for someone to tell me whats going on. Finally the guy told me that he called the UPS (i don’t know which one did they call) and my package is ready to be picked up as in they verified that my package IS at the UPS store. With hope, i said thank you and ended the call and called my local UPS store again to confirm. Once again, the lady told me there is no confirmation code and I have to call Macy’s to report the package as LOST. I called UPS customer service to get more information, and they insist that they cannot start any investigation unless the information was directly sent by Macy’s. So i called Macy’s and the girl told me that she tracked my package on the UPS website with my tracking number and it showed that my package is on hold and is ready to be picked up. I told her exactly what the girl in UPS told me, but she kept insisting that on the UPS website, it stated it is on hold and ready to be picked up.
are. they. fucking. serious.
I, once again, repeat that I called my local UPS store and if I have to call again and have the whole “call Macy” conversation with the girl AGAIN, am I suppose to call Macy’s (AKA the girl on the phone) AGAIN? then she said “hold up” and talked to her manager.
PS. her attitude was RUDE.
FINALLY after 2-3 hours of frustration, the manager decided to file in a LOST package to UPS and will contact me tomorrow for the details.
PS again. the girl’s attitude changed when she told me her manager is sending an investigation/file/claim whatever they do.
i hate UPS and Macy’s. never will I trust Macy’s or UPS.
